The Wise Well Woman's Way

Treasures Found in My Journal

Recently, I discovered a journal given to me at a conference I attended last year. I opened it and began to read my notes.

To my surprise, I found the words of enlightening conversations with my Inner Mentor — the voice of my Inner Wisdom. And, I found a poem I’d forgotten I’d even written. Sometimes, I find treasures in my old journals. Today is one of those days.

Here is the poem I rediscovered:

Adventures

With curiosity I explore

wandering with ease

aimlessly yet purposefully.

I see I hear, I feel

all that is new and old entwined.

What has been before

and what is  yet to come

unfolds and expands as I go.

This path is worn

yet unknown.

Still, with each step I create

a lasting impression.

In flow, my vision is clear.

My journaling practice serves me well. Writing early in the morning allows me to clear the noise buzzing in my head and it brings me clarity. Of all the tools I’ve experimented with over the years, journaling is the one I recommend above all others.  With a book of blank paper, a pen and a few minutes of your time, you can create your best life right there on the page. Write out your dreams and they do become your reality.

If you haven’t integrated this practice into your personal and business growth support system I encourage you to give it a try. Need an idea to start with or a prompt? Begin by answering any of these questions: – If I were a treasure hunter, what treasures would I find in the world today? What messages does my Inner Mentor have to share with me today? What makes me smile? What am I dreaming of today? Or, try your hand at completing the infamous Oprah line “What I know for sure”.

And, if you are a journal writer, and you haven’t flipped through the tattered pages of an old journal in a while, I hope you’ll make a cup of tea, and spend some time with your wise self.

You’ll be glad you did, I am certain!

Please share your treasures.

I wish you clarity, serenity and success!
